Sizing

Printed sizes lie. A medium from 1998 is not a medium today, and two brands in the same era rarely agree with each other. So every listing carries real measurements, taken by hand, in inches, with the piece laid flat.

How each measurement is taken

• Chest — pit to pit, across the front.
• Shoulder — seam to seam across the back.
• Sleeve — shoulder seam to cuff.
• Length — top of the shoulder straight down to the hem.
• Waist — across the waistband, flat.
• Inseam — crotch seam to hem.
• Rise — crotch seam to the top of the waistband.
• Hem — the leg opening, flat.

The most reliable way to buy is to measure something you already own and love, then compare. Trust the numbers over the tag.

Condition

Every piece is graded from 1 to 10. A 10 is deadstock — unworn, often still tagged. Anything below a 10 carries a written note about what is wrong with it and a photograph of it. Vintage is allowed to look its age; it just is not allowed to be a surprise.
